The Cupcake Apocalypse has arrived! Check out this horror themed collaboration created by Joyce Marcellus of Toxic Sweets Shop and Kassy Jiminez of Cakes & Crafts by Kass. Each participant was required to use a giant cupcake in their design which was inspired by either a horror film or tv show. Saturday March 29th, 2014 – Jen Scott

Mother Nature Cake Front View This is the Mother Nature Cake I made. Her head is all cake. The eyes, nose and mouth were done with modeling chocolate and then fondant was laid over them. I also used a special buttercream to build up her cheeks and mouth area and above her eyes. Colour detail was done with powders and vodka and airbrushing. The flower was done with gumpaste and the foliage with royal icing and then airbrushed. The total hours involved was 40.
