Cake Idea - Mother Nature Cake Front View Cake Idea - This is the Mother Nature Cake I made. Her head is all cake. The eyes, nose and mouth were done with modeling chocolate and then fondant was laid over them. I also used a special buttercream to build up her cheeks and mouth area and above her eyes. Colour detail was done with powders and vodka and airbrushing. The flower was done with gumpaste and the foliage with royal icing and then airbrushed. The total hours involved was 40. Edible Art of the Day Winner for Tuesday November 6, 2012 is Emma Doherty. The little boy who I made this for is a big Buzz Lightyear fan and insisted he wore his outfit to his party. It is a 10" vanilla sponge cake. The aliens are all made from fondant with a little Tylose added and the Buzz Lightyear was also made from fondant.
