The Ultimate Cream Cheese Frosting


  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 8 ounces of confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


  1. Cream together butter and cream cheese until smooth (about 4 minutes).
  2. Add vanilla and mix for 1 additional minute.
  3. Add confectioner’s sugar, 1 cup at a time, until thoroughly blended.
  4. Frost the cake layers immediately.
